Sweet Pumpkin Gallery: Windshield Patterns

Sweet Pumpkin Gallery: Windshield Patterns: "Windshield Patterns" There was something very special about watching the windshied wipers continuously make a pattern on the win...

"Wow! Bless Your Heart!"

"Wow!  Bless Your Heart!"

There was a very special man who meant so much to the students as well the faculty members at Shaw High School during the 1970's and 1980's.  His name was Mr. John Gray who always said: "Bless your heart".  Mr. Gray's very famous trademark of "Bless your heart" etched into many people's hearts - especially of those who either attended or worked at Shaw High School in Mobile, Alabama.  I, too, was touched and had my heart "blessed" by this special man.

It was once on a very cloudy morning when I was feeling so "blah" inside when I saw Mr. Gray stood in the doorway of the same classroom where it was used as homeroom.  He stated these very special words that eventually "etched" into my heart which are: "Mary Compton is a young lady who has character, she is very sweet, and you all are blessed to have her in this homeroom.  Mary Compton, "Bless your heart".  From that experience, I felt so uplifted from Mr. Gray because I can strongly sense that special presence of the Lord that surrounded Mr. Gray that I can title this painting and blog, "Wow! Bless Your Heart!".  Now, that is an awesome experience that I can say that my feelings are so uplifted that I did put this painting under "The Emotion" painting  challenge through the Daily Paintworks.

Sheer-ly Windy

"Sheer-ly Windy"

It was one night that I can somehow remember because of the continuing moments of this certain "deja vu".
For example, it was particular evening while I was reading a book while the blustery winds were raging out-
side the house.   Then the next thing that I heard was a sound that went "Whoosh' which was made with a couple of curtain sheers and a blast of a blustery wind that almost knocked down my huband's prized, bisque   lamp.  This painting depicts my right hand grabbing that lamp and my left hand held down the book while the strong and blustery wind and the couple of sheers were contunuously raging into the bedroom.  Eek!  That was indeed a very scary experience.

"Ugg Trio"

"Ugg Trio"

It has been at least for the last seven years that I noticed that there has been quite a great love for these unusual style of boots that has the name of "Ugg".  I have heard that many ladies of various ages swear by this type of boots and that they do not want to come back to the other styles again due to that bed room slipper type of comfort that Ugg gives them.

This painting's subject matter came in a somewhat unusual way.  When I was going through FaceBook on one of my friend's site, I noticed that I saw several ladies were sporting their each one of their feet with painted toe nails on the beach.  Voila! That idea came to me, and I thought that I should use my imagination with three ladies sporting off their Uggs in a setting at a mall.

"Bootiful Leg Winter Leg Wear"

"Bootiful Winter Leg Wear"

For the most part of my life, I have had quite a real fascination with boots of many kinds - especially knee-high boots.  I enjoy wearing boots because it they give me that certain feeling of warmth and comfort on a cold Winter day.  In this painting, I put in five different styles of boots with people and their preferences such as the first one on the left has the "Granny-Style"; the second one has the dressy and traditional knee-high-style; the one in the middle has the faux fur in a Viking style; the next to the right has the Khardashian style with the extremely high heels; and the last one on the right is, yes, the cowboy boot in patriotic colors.   This painting was done all in left hand which is a part of the "Non-Dominant" Challenge" by using the other hand that an artist will not usually paint with while painting and other activities.
